We are taught by our Lord that it is useless to have just faith alone.  God loved us so much that he gave us the ability to make choices through reasoning. In those choices, we are supposed to choose NOT to deny God.  However, with the many complexities inexistence, at times, our choices are not so good at times.   Thus, when we proclaim that we choose God, how is it that there are so many of us Christians that sin, denying God?  And we sin on a daily basis.  And in denying God, we can sin in three ways, (in)directly against God, (in)directly against others and (in)directly against ourselves.  How can we claim a seat in heaven if we just claim our faith, but sin by cheating, lying, stealing and killing?

Jesus' summarized the commandments… Love God with all your mind, soul and might… Love others as you would love yourself. 

Hence, serving is a requirement to become closer to God, not a recommendation.  That is the reason why we have JAM Works, a completely volunteer base youth group that have been put together to serve fellow youths to become closer to God, through Jesus Christ.  We are servants and are created in the world to take care of His creation on earth by serving our planet in all forms.  Not only do we proclaim the greatness of the Lord and praise His almighty name, but we must serve one another so that we help each other come closer to our Father.  This is what we are called to do.  This is what we are meant to do.  This is what we must do.  Praise and serve!
